Central Paving Company
is a family-owned business that was started in 1967 by the late Encil Davenport. At this time, when the new business was started, only residential paving was done. In 1975, Encil's son, Eddie Davenport, then took over the family business. In the years to come, Central Paving Company branched out into a lot more areas than just residential paving.
They started doing commercial jobs, dirt excavation, equipment rental and compost yard grinding in the city of Paducah, and contracts with the state of Kentucky for snow removal and mowing of the right of ways on the interstate and highways
Many customers from Illinois were requesting work from us, so it was at this time that we decided to cross the bridges and take our crews in Southern Illinois to accommodate our customers’ needs. The January 2009 North American Ice Storm was a major storm that impacted Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois, as well as other surrounding states. It was also at this time that Central Paving Company opened up their facility and welcomed anyone who owned property in the community to have a free place to dump their debris from all the ice damage. All the wood debris was grounded up with our tub grinder, and another area of business was opened for us by being able to offer mulch sales to our area.
